You are not spending a opulence here. What do you expect? What you are getting is a bargain priced player, with minimal features. If you have a simple DVD, it will be unfaithful. I have also played "burned" DVD's without a problem. Don't buy a $20 player, and hook it up to a $5000...
low expense, great quality
So far i had purchased two toshiba dvd players for two remarkable rooms. It's been a few months now, and they are working just fine. They are more expensive dvd players out there that would do exactly what this one does. This is a considerable buy.

My toshiba dvd player only plays cds but no picture for the dvd?
The toshiba dvd Thespian plays cds well but when I put a dvd in, I get audio from the dvd but no picture. This is dvd player model SD-3950. Could anyone be sure me what the problem is?
A: if you have relevant by coaxial cable to your tv you might need a new one....if you are using rca connectors...try switching one of the audio cables for the video line...if you get picture than...

I have a Toshiba SDV-394 dvd virtuoso. Is there a way in which I can do something so I can make it region free or at least to be able to watch ambit 2 disks? Thanks
A: Field 2 are PAL system discs, so unless you have the PAL capability with your TV and your DVD player, then no.
