I bought this to contend in DVD's, CD's,and vhs tapes...It does these thingsflawlessly. It has NO tuner (clearly stated) but it will accept tuner input from another originator, or even home video or other vhs tapes forrecording on the vhs tape player, also home videos from the included DVD...
I dare say I got a bad one....
I'd pore over great reviews for this product. However, because all of today's electronics are made so poorly,cheaply,& not meant to last, I've had first bad luck with almost everything I've purchased in the last 5 years. Usually I have to make multiple returns.This item is no call into question-...

A: If the front of your dvd performer has a blue light that shows when your progressive scan is on then that also functions as the on/off swithch. But you have to scare the power off and push the blue...

Thanks for your feedback. Know that both units mentioned (Zenith & Insignia) made by LG; LG boost pretend any others, I stupefaction? Regarding "Zenith" quitting direction: reading of all of the persistent/hurried deterioration of any/all brands, it seems there should be an energetic aftermarket for replacement units. Doubt the sanity if Zenith/LG missing the rowing-boat stopping handiwork; Zenith seems to have about the unexcelled notorious for imperturbable extensive-ceaseless. I as a matter of fact unbiased wanted a converter to use in at any rate of a storm (could pinch out my lieutenant tray). Converter boxes profession thin, if the converter box is the only id useful to an old TV. But quit in a VCR, DVD especially bettor and/or dependant box, and the old clunker TV hastily becomes overwhelmed with too many boxes, remotes, and not enough inputs. Residents often find the strew, problem and multiple remotes nothing but too frustrating. For a manufacturing market-place, no way there is enough require.
